The BCIS Major Works Estimating Dataset focuses predominantly on large 'new build' projects reflecting the economies of scale found in these forms of construction. The dataset is presented in trade order. Tender prices for works priced at about £1-3 million. Labour Rates as at 27th June 2018 and Material Prices as at 2nd quarter 2018.

The BCIS Minor Works Estimating Dataset focuses on small to medium sized 'new build' projects reflecting the increase in costs brought about the reduced output, less discounts, increased carriage and supervision, to the similar items in the Major Works dataset. Tender prices for works priced at about £750,000. Labour Rates as at 27th June 2017 and Material Prices as at 2nd quarter 2018.
